Final Year Show, 2020

I used this time to explore and express my visual concept of the Book of Revelations or the Christian apocalypse. This all started when I saw 'Susan Hiller Interview: Stories from the Other Side'. This is an installation of 104 screens with audio of a group of people telling their near-death experience. I was intrigued, so I wanted to listen to more until I came across videos where people have had 'visions'. Many of these people have said that we will never be able to envision what heaven looks like or even God. If you do, it will be better than what you have imagined. So, I said 'challenge accepted'.

The reason why I chose the apocalypse is that it is the future of the book and, perhaps, of this life. Religious beliefs such as this are still relevant today because of all the disruption that is going on at the moment with politics, climate change and COVID-19. Could we be approaching the end? We will never know.

However, I picture this scenario in a positive way than a negative outcome. Revelations 19:11-16 speaks of a white horse as the heavens open.  Freedom, peace, and power. These words indicate a white horse. Therefore, I want to show the audience what I visualise. So have a look at the work. See what you would have done differently and yet remember... whatever you have just visualised, it will be better.
